this is such a marvelous question, sara darling. i love what everyone's written so far. it took me a long time to decide on mine.

way back in august 2001 i was spending my fourth summer camp counsellorin' which must me one of my absolute, all time, favourite things to do.

anyways, every night a different cabin decided on that evening's "theme dinner" - and announced it at breakfast and lunch. the whole camp would then show up that night at the dining hall at 5:30 in costume. so on one particular day, "superhero" theme dinner was announced at lunch and by 5:20 steve and i had all our kids dressed up and ready to go. wonderwoman, atroboy et al. but being the somewhat lazy-slacker folk we are, we hadn't come up with our own costumes.

well, it was his idea, at the last minute, to put on our most boring gray clothes and to speak in unenthusiastic sentences. we made up brand-new superheroes. he was "captain normal" and i was his sidekick, plaingirl.
