Keep the fires burning, the memories are strong
We know not what it means to be
Among the fallen few
19 brave soldiers doing what they loved to do

Etched forever in the memories of time
Words alone cannot embody who they where
What they meant, or what they stood for
What can it mean to be as dedicated as they?

Forever in our hearts, our souls, and prayers
All gave some, yet some gave all
You are not forgotten

To the families of those who served, past, present, and future... thank you. To the families and friends of the vets of Somalia... a very special thank you. The sacrifices endured and the pain... it takes a special breed of person to live through all that you have.

There is a respect that runs true and deep, and a sense of awe. To be the strongest and bravest, one doesn't necessarily have to be a warrior or soldier... one just has to be there. A pillar of support, a helping hand... a kind word... a friend, lover, wife, or family.

I salute you. Thanks for all that you have done... and all you continue to do. You are all heroes of the highest degree.

----------

And now... for a moment of silence.

::silence::

Tonight, there will be a special prayer said for the families and the fallen. May God keep them safe and protected.

'til next time, Normandy

In Honour of the Fallen in Somalia

"But we in it shall be remember'd; we few, we happy few, we band of brothers ; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition: and gentlemen in England now a-bed shall think themselves accused they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

- William Shakespeare
